The nose is very mellow, dense, and complex, opening without prickle and unfolding into soft, fragrant notes reminiscent of scented candle wax, supported by a gentle mineral oiliness and a faint sweetness of toffee that grows more expressive over time; a drop of water simplifies the profile without altering its core. The palate, medium in body, delivers a textbook oily and smoothly waxy texture at natural strength, with an overarching sweetness balanced by light salinity and smoke that gradually intensifies, finishing with a touch of cayenne spice; a little water enhances the sweetness, though it is not required. The finish is long, warming, and lightly drying, carrying lingering ginger spice, a subtle peaty edge, and a distinctive menthol‑like coolness.
