2024 Louis Jadot Volnay 1er Cru Santenots 6-Pack

At the southern border of the Volnay appellation, Santenots is a shared terroir with Meursault. Pinot Noir here is labeled as Volnay Premier Cru while the small proportion of Chardonnay located here is considered Meursault Premier Cru. Soils are rocky with alternating bands of white and red clay. Santenots exhibits a unique bold structure and earthy presence with leafy underbrush aromas and notes of dark fruit. Tannins are substantial yet rounded and the framing acidity adds length. Any noticeable oak influence recedes quickly and shifts to secondary spice and floral nuances over the finish.
