2022 Domaines Ott Chateau Romassan Bandol Rouge

The altitude, the terraces, the different exposures and the old vines are a real treasure trove for the creation of very fine red wines. Château Romassan Red is just such a wine, masterfully taming the Mourvèdre grape and undergoing an intentionally long ageing period to add a unique finesse of tannins and silkiness to its concentration and depth. The wine displays a sustained garnet-red hue. The nose presents deep aromas of red berries, liquorice and garrigue scrubland. The palate is velvety, with very silky tannins, showing a controlled power that stretches over the palate with elegant minty overtones. The 18 months in oak, followed by up to 24 months in the bottle, play a major role in the final structure of the wine and the development of its great cellar-ageing potential.
