The single-vineyard 2021 Mas de Mancuso Garnacha comes from a north-facing 1.5-hectare vineyard on slate soils at 700 meters in altitude in a shady place, because of the mountains opposite it. It fermented with 100% full clusters and matured in 500-liter oak barrels for 18 months. The year had perfect ripeness, and the wine has 14% alcohol but kept amazing freshness and acidity, coming through as balanced, sapid and elegant. It's floral and perfumed, with lots of aromatic herbs (thyme, rosemary, lavender), very spicy, with notes of nutmeg and black pepper, and a touch of earth. 4,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024.Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate
