The Boroli 2017 Barolo Brunella draws its fruit from the calcareous clay soils in the village of Castiglione Falletto. The wine is tart and streamlined with fruit that is slightly soft and plush but not too ripe. I am impressed by the silky nature of the tannins across these new releases from 2017, a vintage that made tannin management more of a challenge because the summer heat forced earlier ripening. Having said that, this Brunella is definitely more structured compared to the other two wines tasted from this estate.Monica Larner, Wine Advocate
