2011 Renieri Brunello Riserva

Good full red. Musky aromas of dark cherry, camphor and tar pick up exotic notes of blood orange and cumin with aeration. Then intense but firm edged strawberry, iron and mineral flavors on the palate that are much sweeter, suaver and brighter than those of the 2012 Brunello. Finishes fresh and long with a lingering note of minerals. This is a rare example of a Brunello estate’s 2011 Riserva being a great deal better than their 2012 Classico.
