2022 Domaine de Montille Saint-Romain Blanc

Hidden in the heights of the Côte de Beaune, Saint-Romain is encircled by cliffs. The vineyards, facing south–south and north–north-east, are distinguished by their elevation (between 280 and 400 meters above sea level). Within this marl and limestone landscape, the clay-rich parcels are perfectly suited to Chardonnay (57 hectares), while Pinot Noir is not to be outdone, covering around 40 hectares. This Saint-Romain wine is made from 20% of the lieu-dit “Sous Roches” and 80% from “Les Jarrons” in the lower part of the village. The vines, averaging around thirty years of age, are planted on very stony soils and produce wines of beautiful balance. The ageing lasts from 12 to 14 months, with no new oak barrels used.
