2020 Haut-Maillet

93 POINTS: The 2020 Château Haut-Maillet is based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. More subtle on the nose, with plenty of darker cherry and chocolaty notes, it hits the palate with a medium to full-bodied style offering plenty of spicy oak, nicely polished tannins, a great mid-palate, and outstanding length. It's another Pomerol that shows how strong this appellation was in 2020. It's already hard to resist yet is going to evolve for 15+ years.
