The 1er Cru Les Marconnets fruit is hand-harvested from 50 year old vines from Savigny-Les-Beaune. The village of Savigny-Les-Beaune is located in the Côte de Beaune, a few kilometers north of Beaune's village. Savigny-Les-Beaune's wine area is one of the oldest of Burgundy, and a lot of parcels belonged to the Dukes of Burgundy and the Abbeys of Citeaux and Maizières. The soil is chalky with stones and gravels. the vineyard has an East, South-East exposure. The wine is aged in French oak barrels of 228 liters (15 % new barrels). The malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels, and the wine is aged 14 months, then bottled without fining or filtration following the moon calendar. A wine with plenty of fruit and a well integrated structure."Vincent Girardin
