2014 Alta Mora 'Fuedo di Mezzo' Etna Rosso

Here is another wine to be proud of. The 2014 Etna Rosso Feudo di Mezzo sees fruit sourced from a two-hectare vineyard with 80-year-old vines planted at 750 meters above sea level. This is a precise, delineated and elegant expression, with subtle cassis and wild berry notes that are folded within dusty mineral, road paving, licorice and balsam herb. The bouquet offers many moving pieces to keep your attention. This Nerello Mascalese also boasts excellent tannin management. The mouthfeel is firm and focused but never astringent. The wine feels silky and long in texture. The Cusumano brothers have taken off like gangbusters on Etna. Dare I say it, but I believe their Etna wines are by far the best expressions in their entire portfolio of Sicilian wines.
