2013 Rust en Vrede Estate

Bright, dark ruby-red. Musky aromas of black raspberry, blueberry, mocha, dark chocolate, smoked meat and tobacco on the nose. Sweet, dense and concentrated; almost confectionery in its plum and dark berry character but leavened by hints of burning tobacco and spicy oak, and still holding something back. This large-scaled, palate-saturating wine finishes with terrific breadth and sweetness and ripe, building tannins that saturate the teeth.
