97 POINTS: A sublime wine which delights not only for its power and punch, bright fruit and still-youthful energy, but because you can place this in St-Emilion on limestone, with the blood-iron tang to the aromas, a tight, compact frame, liquorice undercurrent and chalky finish. Round, forward, agile and supple, easy to drink and enjoy, yet somehow it feels as if this hasn't fully hit its stride. Characterful with floral-edged summer berries, dried flowers, dark chocolate, tobacco and graphite. A powerful vintage expression with precision and broad shoulders.
