The Yellowstone Limited Edition 2026 follows one of the most celebrated bourbons of the year—the 2025 Edition, named #15 on Whisky Advocate’s Top 20 Whiskies of 2025. That distinction alone places it among the most coveted bottles in the world, further reinforced by a Gold medal at the 2025 Whiskey Wash Awards and recognition on Uproxx’s Top 100 Bourbons of 2025.
Expectations don’t get higher than this—and from everything we’ve seen, this year’s release is ready to meet them.
The 2026 appears destined for similar fanfare. It's a blend of 7- and 14-year bourbons finished in both tawny and ruby port casks. That’s two different port cask profiles, doing two different things to the bourbon, and the tension between them is what makes this so compelling.
Master distiller Stephen Beam, a seventh-generation scion of the Beam family, says he drew his inspiration from the dramatic interplay of shadow and light in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.
It's a pretty apt metaphor for what's in the glass, an experience that is full of contrasts but that sings as one. The nose opens with bright fruit and a warm port sweetness. The palate moves through layers of dark cherry, vanilla, and toasted oak, with the tawny and ruby casks pulling the spirit in subtly different directions before the finish brings everything together in a long, smooth close.
Yellowstone the brand has been around since 1872, but its modern chapter began in 2010, when Beam and his brother Paul brought it back to family ownership through Limestone Branch Distillery. Ever the tinkerer, Stephen has spent the years since exploring every finish and mashbill combination the distillery's cellars can yield. The 2026 release is his most fully realized expression yet.
