TAMDHU 21 YEAR SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY
SPEYSIDE, SCOTLAND
WHY BUY:
We’re offering up to 25% OFF — a full $100 off retail — on Tamdhu 21 Year Old, a superb, sherry-cask single malt that was recently named Robb Report’s 2026 Best of the Best pick for best single-malt scotch. The publication praised Tamdhu 21 as “a beautiful sherry bomb of a whisky that’s still layered with rich complexity,” a fitting description for one of Speyside’s most beloved distilleries.
As connoisseurs know, Tamdhu doesn’t simply finish its whisky in sherry-seasoned wood — the distillery commits to full maturation from beginning to end in first-fill sherry casks. Combined with some of the purest water in the industry, drawn from Tamdhu’s own natural spring, that commitment produces a whisky of exceptional depth, richness, and balance.
THE STORY:
Tamdhu was once universally regarded as one of the world’s great distilleries before it shuttered in 2010. Thankfully, its absence was short-lived. Nearly two years later, Ian Macleod Distillers revived the historic Speyside producer and recommitted Tamdhu to what had made it special in the first place: carefully crafted single malts matured in 100% sherry casks.
That revival has been a gift to whisky collectors and Speyside devotees alike. Tamdhu continues to build on its legacy with distinctive, sherry-driven releases that balance power, elegance, and old-school craftsmanship — and this 21 Year Old now carries one of luxury’s most recognizable accolades, having been included among Robb Report’s 2026 Best of the Best winners.
OUR TASTING NOTES:
The nose opens with a bold rush of deep sherried oak, followed by layers of chocolate, sultanas, and cinnamon-dusted porridge. On the palate, it recalls Jamaican black cake — rich, citrusy, and full of presence — with vivid notes of plump raisins, candied orange, and oak. The balance is especially impressive, showing the benefit of hand-selected American and European oak casks, which bring roundness, depth, and subtle complexity. Where many finishes trail into dryness, this one moves in the opposite direction, ending with a controlled, never-cloying sweetness.
ABV:
47.5% / 95 proof.
FUN FACT:
Tamdhu is the last distillery in Scotland still using saladin boxes, a French invention that plays an important role in malting barley. That attention to detail is part of what has made Tamdhu such a beloved name among whisky fans around the world.
