Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley is one of the most loved white wines in the world, and for good reason. The region’s terroir-focused wines offer up finesse, nuance, and elegance—often at tremendous value. Today’s trio upholds this reputation well, and showcases the diversity to be found among Loire Sauvignon Blanc. We’ve included two Sancerres and one Pouilly-Fumé from three under-the-radar producers, each of which far over delivers its modest price point. For one week you can take advantage of Mix & Match pricing on all three, which brings each bottle as low as $22.47. Stock up and find your new go-to white wine today!

Sancerre is most famous for its vineyards of Kimmeridgian limestone soils, also a dominant feature in Chablis and portions of Champagne. Grapes grown in Kimmeridgian soil tend to produce age-worthy wines with fruit-and-mineral cores and racy backbones of acidity. The Doucet Family has been located in the village of Sury-en-Vaux, north of Sancerre, for four generations. Bringing with him winemaking experience in Burgundy, proprietor Vincent has recently transitioned to more sustainable viticulture to “preserve and express our terroir as well as possible.” Our other Sancerre feature comes from Pascal Thomas, an estate located in Chavignol (the smallest village of Sancerre). The grapes grow in “Tufa” soils (a mix of limestone, sand, and chalk) and are exclusively hand harvested. When sipping either of these wines, it's hard to not daydream about pairing them with the region’s famous goat cheese Crotin de Chavignol.

The soil in Pouilly-Fumé is dominated by Silex (composed of a higher proportion of flint), which gives the wine a vibrant, mineral note along with a "gunflint" aroma that often characterizes the wines of the appellation. While Sancerre enjoys global appreciation, Pouilly-Fumé remains somewhat lesser known as the annual production of in Pouilly-Fumé is roughly 1/3 the total production of Sancerre. The Gaudry family has been making wine in Pouilly-sur-Loire for generations and has long focused on site-specificity, vinifying each plot separately and fermenting in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness. Each of today’s wines possess its own distinct personality, but if you seek powerful, elegant, mineral-driven whites, this lineup will exceed your expectations.
