For the rum collector, true cask strength and proof are everything. We know, because we're rum geeks, too —and in our sourcing, as in our drinking, these are the very qualities we're on the hunt for.

That's one reason we're such fans of Rhumb Runner, in particular their excellent Collector Cask Series.

This is true cask to bottle rum—no water, additives, coloring or special filtering is used to achieve the rich coloring and complex flavors. What's more, 100% of this rum entered a single barrel after distillation and remained in that barrel until bottling.

The other rums in their line are sourced and distilled in Trinidad and Guyana. With this latest addition, the Rhumb Runner family looks west, to Venezuela, source of some of the most revered wines in all of the rum trade.

Made with molasses, not sugar, and distilled at the Corporation Alcooles del Caribe, this 16-year exhibits all the characteristics that have long endeared rum drinks to Venezuelan varieties—most of all, a distinctive note of caramel on the nose and a soft velvetyness that segues to a long, smooth finish.
