MIDLETON VERY RARE 2024 - 2026
VINTAGE RELEASE IRISH WHISKEY

IRELAND

Midleton Very Rare Vintage Releases are universally regarded by collectors as a holy grail collectible, the most sought-after in the entire category.

And the past three vintages are not just arriving in the US for the first time, but arriving all at once.

For those who have been waiting since the release of the 2023 vintage, this spectacular bundle delivers the next chapter: the 2024, 2025, and 2026 vintages, each individually signed and numbered by Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman.

The 2026 vintage is a blend of five distillate styles, three single pot still and two single grain, and every bit as layered and complex as we and other loyalists could have hoped for. It opens vibrantly, with gorgeous and generous notes of orange peel, lemon zest, and soft apricot before yielding the floor to rich, almost savory expressions of crème brûlée and toffee. And through it all, the unmistakable and distinctive hints of pot still spice and American oak.

The 2025 is where O'Gorman took his most adventurous turn. This one’s built upon three styles of grain whiskey, including a 22-year-old select batch and a 21-year-old rarity. The nose is delicate and beautifully controlled, and full of surprises: is that caramelized apple? and lavender? The discoveries don’t end there, as you open up to a palate of honeycomb and white pepper, among them. On the finish, again, that wonderful and warming touch of pot still spice.

The 2024, winner of a Gold medal at the International Spirits Competition in 2024, might be the most immediately seductive of the three. We found it to be silky and luscious from the get-go, with tropical fruit and crème brûlée giving way to chocolate-dipped honeycomb and charred oak. And the finish! It’s not just long — it’s persistent, and refuses to end, instead fading away like one of those songs from the '70s on AOR radio.

A long time ago, but not, alas, in Midleton terms.

It’s been the beating heart of Irish whiskey since 1825, when the Murphy brothers built their distillery on the banks of the Dungourney River in County Cork.

The Very Rare series launched in 1984 as an annual limited release, to give collectors a kind of snapshot of the distillery's finest reserves.

It was a success almost from the start, with each bottle becoming a collector's object from virtually the moment it leaves the cellar.

These are going to become centerpieces of your collection, and we can’t wait for you to take your first tastes and tell us all about it.
