The rolling hills of the Chehalem Mountains, nestled in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, are home to acclaimed Ponzi Vineyards. Nearly 50 years ago, the winery was among the first to showcase to the world just how good Oregon Pinot Noir could be, and the family winery is now run by the second generation: sisters Luisa Ponzi and Anna Maria Ponzi. Under the women’s leadership, “Ponzi Vineyards remains a reference point for American Pinot Noir with winemaker Luisa Ponzi at the top of her game” (Robert Parker). Today we’re excited to unveil their newest project, ‘Marisa’—a combination of the Ponzi sisters’ first names, Luisa and Maria. In typical Ponzi fashion, the wine displays the best of the Willamette Valley terroir: expect intense aromas of dark berries, cranberry, and cinnamon that lead into flavors of strawberries, herbs, red cherry, and warm baking spices.
