Lucien Le Moine is an extraordinary, haute-couture micro négociant crafting brilliant wines with the best fruit from the most renowned Premiers Crus and Grands Crus of Burgundy. Established by husband-and-wife team Mounir and Rotem Saouma; two people, together doing everything by hand, working with an astonishing array of Burgundy's greatest terroirs. Dedicated to the philosophy of making wines of purity and typicity, their methods have been touted as one of the benchmark 'modernist producers', however, Winemaker Mounir Saouma believes that his long, slow elevages and minimal use of sulfur harken back to the Burgundy production of a bygone era. As Mounir says himself, its “as traditional as it gets.” The use of naturally occurring carbon dioxide from the slow fermentation preserves the wine enabling minimal sulfur use and necessitating decanting. They work solely with one cooper, using wood from the Jupilles forest, the slowest growing in France, thus yielding the most fine-grained wood.

Since the production is very limited and the quality of the wines is unmistakably high, most of the wines produced by Lucien Le Moine are typically sold out upon release, so this is a rare opportunity not to be missed by any serious Burgundy lover.
