That’s right: for the first time in history, Louis XIII, the benchmark by which all other luxury Cognacs are measured, has made its legendary Jeroboam decanter (3 L) officially available for purchase in the U.S., thanks to a ruling by the TTB, which quietly adjusted regulations that had previously banned distilled spirits in bottles this size from American sale.
Fewer than 200 individually numbered Jeroboam decanters are now produced globally each year, with an even smaller number set aside for the U.S. market.
But we’ve managed to secure 5 bottles, and hope you’ll take advantage of our dogged and passionate efforts to source them.
Each decanter arrives in a opulent wooden case containing four hand-cut crystal glasses, a custom display podium, and — perhaps most important of all — the iconic Spear, a specially designed pipette that allows you to extract the Cognac drop by precious drop. The deliberate slowing-down of the entire experience forces you to treat each serving with the reverence it deserves.
As for the Cognac itself — well, it’s as methodically, obsessively, and lovingly made as you could hope for.
Each Jeroboam contains a blend of up to 1,200 different eaux-de-vie, all sourced exclusively from Grande Champagne — Cognac's most prestigious growing region — and aged for decades in ancient Limousin oak. Current Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau continues a legacy that stretches back to 1874, selecting and nurturing spirits with the kind of foresight that borders on the mystical.
Or, to put that another way: Loiseau is currently setting aside eaux-de-vie that won't reach their peak until the next century, making decisions today for Cognac that will outlive most of us.

The nose opens with myrrh and honey before revealing dried roses and sun-warmed plums, while the palate moves through honeysuckle and leather into rich notes of cigar box and fig, concluding with an unexpected burst of passion fruit that keeps you coming back to decode its mysteries.
