Blending reserve Grand Cru wines into seamless, sinuous expressions, they are Champagnes that wow even the most jaded of Champagne drinkers. We're also thrilled to present two of their entry-level Champagnes, which would be flagship wines at many estates, including their 95-point Cuvée Rosé, made with 100% Grand Cru Pinot Noir grapes from 10 different villages.

The 99-point Grand Siècle Itération No. 23 moved him almost as deeply, with the critic swooning: "So much subtle power and tension." As for the Cuvée Rosé, Decanter awarded 95 points, hailing its "vinous palate with a mild mousse, the soft texture all wrapped in spice, nuts, smoke, and a superior berry tincture."

The Story: Founded in 1812, Laurent-Perrier has evolved a distinctive and ingratiating style, built partly upon using a larger-than-usual percentage of Chardonnay grapes. Dry and taut, the wines are, at the same time, wonderfully rich and fleshy, and bathe the palate in luxury. The Grand Siècle line is the apotheosis of the art of blending, incorporating as it does three different vintages (often of 15 years or more) into a single, celestial expression.

Specs: Itération No. 26 is a blend of 2012, 2008, and 2007, sourced from 8 Grand Cru sites; Itération No. 23 is a blend of 2006, 2004, and 2002, and contains fruit from 11 Grand Cru sites.

Our Tasting Notes: The Grand Siècle Itération series is as ethereal as Champagne gets, extraordinarily-realized wines that seem to alter you from the inside with each luxuriant sip, making you more noble and contented and hopeful. The Cuvée Rosé is superb, a delicate balancing act, and an exceptional value at less than $90 a bottle, as is the beautiful Brut La Cuvée, which, at less than $55 a bottle, deserves to be in your rotation for ordinary weeknight dinners.

Fun Fact: Bernard de Nonancourt, who set Laurent-Perrier on its modern course, was, during World War II, a sergeant in the French Army’s 2nd Armored Division.
