Chateau Giscours, Chateau Du Tertre, Caiarossa

As a follow up to our unforgettable evening of Chateau Giscours and Caiarossa with General Manager, Alexander Van Beek, our offer today is a lineup of the wines tasted at our Bordeaux vs Super Tuscan dinner. Featuring library vintages and limited releases of Chateau Giscours and Caiarossa that were paired with the masterful cuisine of Chef Fabio Trabocchi, we’re offering up to 20% off the whole lineup, including the elusive and stunning 2000 Giscours and rare, hard to find 1996 vintage.

Over the past decade, the fortunes of this well-known Third Growth, Grand Cru Classe Margaux estate have turned. Brought back to its former glory, Chateau Giscours is now producing wines that over deliver in every way. Owner Albada-Jelgersma, who also owns Chateau du Tertre and the newly established Tuscan estate, Caiarossa, has set a top-notch team in place to manage the properties, including General Manager Alexander Van Beek, and has added world-renowned consultants Eric Boissenot and Denis Dubourdieu to the winemaking team. In 2008, Frederic Ardouin from Latour was brought in as technical director and Kees Van Leewen of Cheval Blanc (top expert in Bordeaux terroir) was brought in to study the geology of the property. Armed with the best of the best - this outstanding estate is at the top of its game, producing outstanding wines at unbelievable prices compared to other top names in Bordeaux.

In contrast, we are highlighting their powerhouse Tuscan estate, in the heart of Val di Cecina. With the acquisition of Caiarossa in 2004, Jelgersma continued the previous owner’s efforts in studying the potential of this terrain through geographical analysis - revealing an extremely complex set of soils present on the property. Biodynamics are employed on the property’s 12 designated parcels, and the wines are aged in a mixture of barrique, tonneaux and large oak casks. With the influence of a world-class vineyard management and winemaking team, these highly acclaimed wines are garnering 94+ points year after year, and continue to show us the potential of this region.

For those who love the elegance of Margaux and the bold Bordeaux blends of Tuscany this is a lineup you don’t want to miss. These nine wines are being offered Mix & Match, for up to 20% off. Keep in mind, Giscours and Du Terte come in their original wooden cases for 12 bottle orders of the same wine and vintage.
