DUNCAN TAYLOR, RARE AULD GRAIN SINGLE CASK SCOTCH WHISKY

SCOTLAND

We’re always on the hunt for collectible Scotch, and we’ve hit a double jackpot. Today’s feature includes two single casks from Duncan Taylor’s Rare Auld Grain collection: the Highlands’ Invergordon 30-Year and the Lowlands’ North British 29-Year. Concierge pricing brings each of these bottles to $169.97—an unbelievable value for Scotches of this age and caliber. As one of our perennial favorite bottlers of exceptional whisky, Duncan Taylor boasts more than 80 years of history and has built a reputation as one of the most innovative and dynamic companies in the whisky industry. Family owned, with more than three generations of experience in the Scotch industry, the team has unparalleled experience and expertise in wood management and sourcing of the highest quality oak casks.  Don’t delay in adding both of these single casks to your collection!

The Invergordon Grain Distillery is located in the Highlands town of Invergordon and is one of only six dedicated grain distilleries in Scotland; the distillery has become famous for their Coffey stills, from which they produce some of the finest grain whisky in the world. Today’s 30-Year Invergordon Single Cask uses a mashbill of barley, corn, and wheat and was bottled at cask strength of 52%. Following its 30 years of maturation in ex-Bourbon American oak cask, the dram offers up an opulent profile of apricot, vanilla, pecan, and maple.

As one of the other six dedicated grain distilleries in Scotland, the North British Distillery was founded in 1885 by Andrew Usher, William Sanderson, James Watson, and John Crabbie; the four founders originally built the distillery to challenge the monopoly the Distillers Company Ltd. had over the supply of grain at the time. (Ironically, the two companies eventually merged.) Whisky distilled from North British appears in a few famous blends, most notably Johnnie Walker Black Label. Built from a mashbill of barley, corn, and wheat, the North British we’ve sourced today was bottled at cask strength of 55% after 29 years in ex-Sherry cask. If you love Sherry-cask finished whiskies, this one's for you. The finished spirit has a beautiful coppery red hue and has taken on intense and complex notes of dried fruit, honey, and dark chocolate. Today’s bottles are incredibly distinct, and warrant a try for yourself. Place your orders today!
