Today's offer is too good to be true: a hand-harvested, old-vine Chateauneuf-du-Pape from the stellar 2016 vintage produced by a fourth-generation, family-run winery for under $36 when purchasing 4 bottles or more. A blend of equal parts Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre, the 2016 Clos Saint Michel Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Reservee comes from a select old-vine, estate-vineyard parcel from a vintage that was "truly extraordinary" for the Southern Rhone, with wines that "should be snatched up" (Jeb Dunnuck). Densely textured, today's wine is a full-bodied, concentrated blockbuster that will mature beautifully in your cellar over the next decade.

Owners Franck and Olivier Mousset have established themselves as leaders in the Southern Rhone, investing in multiple projects in lesser known, up-and-coming regions throughout the Rhone Valley - believing in the untapped potential. At home in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, the rustic, working-farmhouse that has been managed by the family since the 1950s is dedicated to the tradition of the small-scale artisanal wineries that first put Chateauneuf-du-Pape on the world stage. As noted by Robert Parker, a "new generation of Moussets has taken over and the result is better wines than ever before." Their portfolio includes some of the best values you can find in the Southern Rhone.

With a bevy of Cotes du Rhones and world-class Chateauneuf-du-Papes produced, including the rare Grand Clos, their 2016 Cuvee Reservee represents one of their top wines of the vintage. Impressively endowed, concentrated and powerful, the wine is produced from 50+ year old vines grown on galet stone covered soils in the Le Grand Coulet lieu-dit. Using whole bunch fermentation, the wine is vinified in 50% concrete and 30% steel vat and 20% large oak barrel. It is then aged for one year in 228-liter oak casks for 24 months. The cuvee is dense, rich and bursting with aromas of currants, crushed rocks and herbs. Bountiful flavors of black cherry, raspberry, cedar and spice are balanced by incredible structure and polished tannins. With James Molesworth of Wine Spectator noting that the 2016 vintage is a "rare opportunity to bolster your cellar with some truly special wines," today's offer of up to 20% off is a no-brainer. Secure your orders quickly as our small allocation is sure to sell through in a short period of time.
