Château Mouton Rothschild, one of the five First Growths of Bordeaux and one of the grandest names in the wine industry. Situated in Pauillac, their wines have amazed, enthralled and compelled all fortunate enough to taste them since the mid 1800’s. As the only Chateau to have its status from the 1855 classification promoted, Chateau Mouton Rothschild has always been seen as one of the pioneers of Bordeaux – the iconic artist labels designs and the first estate to bottle its wine at the estate instead of shipping in barrel. Unknown by some, they have some of the oldest vines still in use in Bordeaux, some planted in 1890, over 130 years old, situated on the ‘Mouton Plateau’, otherwise known as the Grand Plateau, famous for is dense, gravel soils.
