Today we celebrate the long-awaited release of Chateau Latour 2008. Why the back vintages? In 2012 Chateau Latour announced that they will no longer be participating in Bordeaux’s En Primeur system – the vehicle through which collectors and retailers purchase Bordeaux Futures. Instead, the Chateau would release the wines when they deemed them to be ready for consumption. Until the wines are released, they sit in the perfect conditions of Chateau Latour’s own cellars and are proof-tagged for authentication.

The wine for today’s offer is currently resting in the cellars of Latour waiting to be shipped over after purchases have been made. It is important to note that there may be 2008 Latour floating around the wine market, but if you see these available now, they are from the 2009 release of the wines as Latour’s 2019 release of 2008 will not have yet shipped out of Bordeaux. The proof-tag authentication will also determine the exact provenance of the wines.

While we have been able to secure a healthy allocation, based on the demand, we anticipate the wines to go quickly. We suggest acting quickly to secure an order. While we do not have an order minimum, orders in 6 bottle increments with be delivered in 6-pack Original Wooden Cases for both the 2008 Latour.
