Some wines are simply exceptional. Others stop you in your tracks. The 2025 Château Beauséjour Duffau-Lagarrosse is the latter, and we have a singular opportunity to share it with one client in a way that has never been offered before.

Own the Barrel. Choose Your Formats. Become Part of the Story.

Joséphine Duffau-Lagarrosse did not inherit a simple estate. She inherited one of Saint-Émilion's most singular pieces of earth, a plateau of pure limestone so rare and so expressive that it shapes every decision made in the vineyard and every bottle that leaves the property. This is not just a wine. It is a place.

Before returning to Beauséjour, Joséphine spent two formative vintages working alongside the legendary Georges Noellat in Burgundy, one of that region's most revered domaines. It was there, walking rows of Pinot Noir on ancient soils, that she fully understood what limestone could give a wine: tension, minerality, precision, and a kind of electric energy that no winemaking technique can manufacture. She came home to Saint-Émilion with that understanding, and she has never let go of it.

The Land. The Cellar. The Obsession.

Beneath Château Beauséjour JDL lies something extraordinary. Carved directly into the living limestone bedrock, Joséphine's barrel cellar is not simply a storage room. It is a natural extension of the terroir itself. The temperature holds steady without intervention. The humidity is constant. The stone breathes. The barrels rest in an environment that has been shaped by millions of years of geology, and the wines that age there absorb that quiet, mineral energy in a way that is simply impossible to replicate anywhere else in Bordeaux.

This is what makes Beauséjour JDL so singular. In a region that has long been defined by gravel, clay, and the power of the sun, Joséphine is doing something fundamentally different. Her wine drinks like Bordeaux but thinks like Burgundy. The limestone drives a purity and a tensile, focused minerality through the wine that sets it apart from nearly everything else on the Left or Right Bank.

And she leaves nothing to chance. From canopy management in the vineyard to the selection of each individual barrel, Joséphine approaches every step of the process with a precision that borders on the obsessive. She is not making wine for scores or for markets. She is making wine for the ages, wine that says something specific about a specific place, and the world has taken notice.

A Truly Bespoke Experience

This is not a case purchase. This is the purchase of an entire barrel, approximately 300 bottles of wine, and with it, the freedom to determine how that wine comes into the world.

Inspired by the storied tradition of the Hospices de Beaune, Joséphine has made available a tiny allocation of barrels from the 2025 vintage, just eight in the entire world, with one reserved exclusively for the United States. Work with us to allocate your barrel across bottle formats including standard bottles, Magnums, Double Magnums, Imperials, and a Salmanazar personally signed by Joséphine herself. Formats above Magnum are available only through this barrel program; they cannot be purchased through any other En Primeur channel.

And when the wine is ready, you will be welcomed to Château Beauséjour for a private visit with Joséphine herself, tasting directly from barrel in that extraordinary limestone cellar, exploring the estate, and finishing with a seated tasting of a mature vintage. To stand in that cellar, surrounded by ancient stone, tasting wine that will outlive all of us, is an experience that simply cannot be bought any other way.
