CARTE BLANCHE, BECKSTOFFER MISSOURI HOPPER VINEYARD CABERNET SAUVIGNON &
VERMILLION RED BLEND

CALIFORNIA 2017

Helen Keplinger is a name to know in Napa Valley. She was first recognized as a “winemaker to watch” by Wine Spectator in 2011, subsequently named 2012 ‘Winemaker of the Year’ by Food & Wine Magazine, and was honored with the cover feature of a 2014 Spectator issue. Working with names like Bryant Family Vineyard, Grace Family Vineyard, and several wineries in Australia and Spain, she has developed a reputation for distinctive, site-specific, and age-worthy wines. Along with her own project, Keplinger Wines—which Wine Spectator called “one of the most exciting and innovative wineries to emerge in California in years”—Keplinger also consults for a select number of California wineries. Today we’re thrilled to present two labels both crafted under the expert eye of Helen Keplinger: Carte Blanche’s Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon as well as Vermillion, a Rhône-style red blend from the Sierra Foothills. For one week, you can collect both with Concierge-only discounts that will make you do a double take!

The 2017 Carte Blanche Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The Missouri Hopper Vineyard sits in the southwest corner of Oakville at the base of the Mayacamas and is owned by the famed Andy Beckstoffer. Critic Jeb Dunnuck says of the site: “[it] continues to fly slightly under the radar yet produces brilliant wines.” The 2017 aged 22 months in 100% French oak and is a stunning, dense ruby-purple in the glass with an electrifying nose of black currants, cassis, tobacco, and ripe red fruit. The palate is opulent yet structured with integrated sweet tannins and notes of dark blackberry, black cherry, and bittersweet chocolate. This wine was built to age, and would make a worthy addition to any Napa-focused cellar.

Also produced by Helen Keplinger, the 2017 Vermillion shows the breadth of her experience and expertise within California winemaking. The team works closely with grape growers from small vineyard sites in Napa Valley, Sonoma County, and the Sierra Foothills. The 2017 Vermillion is a blend only possible within California: 40% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Sirah, 3% Counoise, and 2% Viognier. It aged 16 months in 100% French oak and boasts a profile of raspberry, cherry, garrigue, and pepper. This is a terroir-driven, delicious, and hand-crafted wine at a price point that you can enjoy for weeknight dinners as easily as special occasions. Our limited-time pricing can save you more than 30%, so don’t delay in placing your order today!
