BLADE & BOW 30 YEAR BOURBON
2026 LIMITED RELEASE
KENTUCKY, USA
Folks, we’ve got fewer than 20 bottles of Blade and Bow’s astounding 30 Year Bourbon, a bottling from the “cathedral of bourbon,” the great Stitzel-Weller Distillery. That’s the entirety of the allocation.
We loved its nose, so rich and expressive, with lemon and raspberry up front, ginger and cinnamon underneath, and then the slow opening out — toward fig, burnt sugar, and molasses. The palate is luxuriously oily, but also wonderfully evocative, with hints of hazelnut and anise and just a touch of blackcurrant. The same long, cooling menthol finish is here, too.
Produced at the Louisville distillery that once housed Pappy Van Winkle, Old Fitzgerald, and W.L. Weller, and that built its name on a habit everyone else in that era considered eccentric: patience. As most of the competition rushed bourbon to market half-formed, Stitzel-Weller took its sweet time. Thus was a legend born.
Blade and Bow takes its name from the five brass keys that once hung on the distillery's door, each standing for a step in the process, grains, yeast, fermentation, distillation, aging.
And as this superlative bottle attests, they have never stinted on any of those keys, least of all the last one.
