ANGEL'S ENVY CELLAR COLLECTION 2026
PEACH BRANDY FINISHED RYE WHISKEY

KENTUCKY, USA

Angel's Envy's Cellar Collection is among the most closely watched limited-release series out there, and we knew by the way you snatched up Vol. 5 that Vol. 6 could come none too soon. Well, Vol. 6 is upon us, folks, and let me tell you: you're going to want to jump on this one quick.

This is an ingeniously conceived bottling, to our mind maybe the best of the series to date — a rye that will, for sure, thrill the purists, but that also is so approachable and irresistible that casual drinkers will be hooked, too.

What the team at Angel’s Envy did was to take a Kentucky Straight Rye, distilled between 2014 and 2018, and split it in two. They finished one portion in peach brandy casks for up to 23 months. They finished the other in toasted oak barrels for up to 12 months. Then they bought the two together, and allowed them to get acquainted with one another.

We called it “ingenious” in its conception, and you’ll see exactly what we mean with your very first sip.

The peach brandy brings the orchard sweetness and floral lift you'd expect, along with an unexpected softness. The toasted oak delivers the architecture: vanilla, caramel, clove, and the peppery rye character that we all look for in a rye.

Each element is, individually, compelling, but together they (as Tom Cruise famously told Renee Zellwegger) complete one another.

Angel's Envy is, as you know, a standard-bearer when it comes to finishes, which are never merely applied like varnish to  a cabinet. Here, the two finishings braid so seamlessly, so inevitably. The peach lifts the rye; the rye keeps the peach from becoming cloying.

The nose opens beautifully, with such vivid fruit and floral notes that you’ll be hard put to set your glass down. The palate, though, is where this really shows itself: in the way ripe orchard fruit combines with vanilla cream, with hints of caramel, clove, and autumnal spices giving the whole thing such definition and nuance. The fruit carries all the way to the finish, where it’s joined by a touch of soft oak and initiates a long, almost velvety close.

At 53.2% ABV (106.4 proof), it has the structure to be sipped neat, or to hold up to a cube or two of ice without losing definition.

This release is going to move quickly, so don’t sleep on it!
