CHÂTEAU LATOUR

PAUILLAC, BORDEAUX, FRANCE 2011

The legendary Château Latour released its 2011 Grand Vin ex-château a few days ago, and this release feels especially momentous. It marks the last vintage that the famed estate participated in Bordeaux’s en primeur system; as of 2012, Château Latour and Les Forts de Latour will only be released when the house believes the wines are entering their drinking window. Robert Parker calls the 2011 Château Latour a “beautifully rich, savory Latour [that’s] one of the vintage’s most compelling wines,” a significant review for a vintage coming on the heels of 2009 and 2010. Indeed, even in challenging vintages this esteemed First Growth reliably produces age-worthy, complex wines with incredible depth of character that’s unmatched by almost any other wine produced today.

As of 2007, all bottles of Latour have a prooftag authenticator capsule seal: a unique 13-number code to protect the provenance and authenticity of the bottles. While we have been able to secure a healthy allocation of Latour’s release for our Concierge customers, we anticipate the wines will go quickly. We do not have an order minimum, but please note all orders in six-bottle increments will be delivered in their original wooden cases.
