The 2021 P2KV Zaca Mesa Vineyard is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre from the original vines planted between 1978-1997. Zaca Mesa was "my first tasting room, when I was 21," Joey Tensley recalls. "I'm the only one who gets this stuff because of the P2KV project." Medium to deep ruby, it takes plenty of time in the glass to blossom and features baked cherries, cracked pepper, milk chocolate, orange peel and savory spices. The medium-bodied palate balances concentrated fruits with ample yet seamless acidity. It boasts a supple, lightly chalky frame and layer after layer of perfumed fruit fanning out across the finish. Wow! This stands out for its incredible layering, freshness and approachability.Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate
