The nose is packed with prunes, sawdust, leather, coffee and fudge. The texture is silky at first then dry, grippy with a peppery prickle. The palate is complex and develops a lot over time. Oak, nutmeg, leather and tobacco at first. Espresso, dark chocolate and dried fruits mid palate, and deep bittersweet treacle, molasses and burnt sugar on the finish along with lots of spicy charred oak.
