Alexander Murray & Co. Speyside 15-Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Speyside Distillery was founded in 1962 by George Christie. It was built by hand by George Christie over the next decades and was finished in 1987. It took another three years until whisky production started in 1990. Two pot stills of traditional shape were installed. Because massive production was never one of George’s objectives, they are some of the smallest in Scotland. The distillery is the most southern on Speyside and takes its water directly from the River Tromie. The whisky produced at Speyside Distillery has a long fermentation and a slow distillation. The result is a lighter style whisky that embodies a bit of sweetness and is slightly fruity. A single cask, cask strength and un-chillfiltered expression from Speyside Distillery, matured in an ex-Bourbon Barrel.
