2025 Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Riesling Spatlese

The 2025 Scharzhofberger Spätlese is Egon Müller's one and only Spätlese from this vintage, and it is a brilliant one: generous and complex on the nose, with saline notes and serious mineral substance. This is a textural but light, fresh and highly refined, very elegant and light-footed Spätlese with a savory character and fine phenol grip on the finish. It is maybe not as substantial, intense and complex as the old-vines Kabinett but has lots of charm and finesse. Tasted as a sample at the domaine in March 2026.
