The nose is all about depth, showing graphite, iodine, ash, blackberries and hints of tar and mussel shells. Full-bodied on the palate, with a very solid mid-palate and tight but fine-grained tannins. Demure, broad and long. A new wine from Don Melchor from a 7.05-hectare parcel planted in 1979, the oldest plots they have. 88% cabernet sauvignon and 12% cabernet franc. 15 months in new and used French oak barrels. 14.5% alcohol.
