Standing on its own for the first time, Mt. Calisse is a core component of the Quintessa blend. This Cabernet Sauvignon block sits on hillside terraces rich with volcanic, white ash soils. Its topography originated from landslides in the Vaca Mountains. Such pure rhyolitic ash soils—more prominent on Pritchard Hill and Howell Mountain—are rarely found on the valley floor. Mt. Calisse grounds the final Quintessa blend with length and finish characteristic of a mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a wine of intense floral and red fruit aromas, linear and long with a classic, fine-grained chalk finish. Your wine offers extended aging potential.
