2019 Vincent Girardin Volnay 1er Cru Santenots

The Volnay 1er Cru "Les Santenots" grapes come from 65 year old vines from the vineyards of the village of Meursault in the Côte de Beaune. They are classified in "Volnay Santenots" if they are red, or in "Meursault Santenots" if they are white. From clay and limstone slopes, the 100% Pinot Noir is Guyot pruned, hand harvested and sorted twice. After a soft pressing, the wine is put into French oak casks to age for another 14 months. Volnay combines breeding with nobility, delicacy, elegance, and feminity. A delicate violet and berry fragrance. One of the finest representatives of the Côte de Beaune.
