2019 Tensley O.G.T. Syrah (1.5L)

100 POINTS: Darker berries, graphite, peppery herbs, smoke, and cassis all emerge from the 2019 Syrah OGT, a heavenly wine that's impossible to resist today. It's rich, powerful, full-bodied, and deep, with ripe tannins, brilliant mid-palate depth, no hard edges, and a great, great finish. Based on 100% Syrah (50% Colson Canyon, 25% Thompson, and 25% Tensley Vineyard), it was fermented with 25% stems and aged all in used barrels previously used for the Noir cuvée and the Colson Canyon Syrah. It's more approachable today than, say, the 2016, yet will cruise for another 15-20+ years. This is a legendary Santa Barbara County Syrah. Drink 2026-2050.
