2019 Quinta do Vesuvio 'Comboio do Vesuvio'

The 2019 Comboio do Vesúvio is a roughly equal blend of Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz, with a dollop of Tinta Barroca, unoaked and coming in at 14.5% alcohol. Fresh, bright and textured, this is tightly wound and precise, although the tannins are never hard. Serious in structure and flavors, this is a wine that offers some bang for the buck. Its purity is another plus. You can plunge in now, but it can certainly hold several years, maybe more. If it can show any ability to develop, it might even be entitled to an uptick in score.
