91-93 Points: Based on 40% Grenache and 30% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre brought up in old barrels, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Réservée reveals a spicy, traditional nose that has plenty of gamey red and black fruits, new leather, and garrigue to go with medium-bodied richness, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It’s a solid, classic 2019 that has loads of character.
