92-94 Points: Always solid, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Tradition checks in as a blend of 40% Grenache and 30% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre that was brought up all in concrete tanks. Traditional notes of red and black currants, peppery garrigue, new leather, and licorice all emerge from this beauty, and it’s medium to full-bodied, has a layered, textured mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a beautiful finish. It’s a no-brainer to enjoy any time over the coming 15 years or more.
