2017 Tornatore Etna Rosso 'Trimarchisa'

The Trimarchisa Contrada is located in Verzella (in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia). It is a ridge of lava soil, with the presence of calcareous sediments, sloping down towards the Alcantara river. The vines used are Nerello Mascalese and a small part of Nerello Cappuccio, and have an average age of over 40 years. The color is Ruby red with faint violet reflections. Rich and complex on the nose, very reminiscent of blackberries, black cherry and a very delicate hint of softwood. On the palate it is decisive, complex and extraordinarily persistent.
