2017 Edouard Delaunay Clos Vougeot Grand Cru

In this wine, the lift of crisp red cherry has a faint hint of resin, giving it a perfumed edge. Heightened aromatics also play on the subtle, slender palate that impresses with depth and gentleness rather than power. Fine tannins provide a graceful frame alongside freshness. For now the cinnamon and toast notes of oak still sit a little heavily on the fruit but this should wane with bottle age. Drink 2025–2040.
