2017 Clos St. Michel Chateauneuf-du-Pape Grand Vin

93+ Points: The 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Grand Vin is an even split of Syrah and Grenache that saw a year in stainless steel. It's another inky colored release from this estate and has lots of Northern Rhône Syrah notes of blackberries, cracked pepper, olives, and beef blood. Rich, full-bodied, and meaty on the palate, it has plenty of oomph and richness, ripe tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. Drink it over the coming 15 years or so.
