2014 Moone-Tsai Hillside Blend

The 2014 Proprietary Red Hillside Blend Howell Mountain (70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot) is a beauty. With notes of mulberry jam, blackcurrants, subtle barbecue smoke and graphite all present in this wine, it has terrific minerality, gorgeous density, and an intense, full-bodied mouthfeel, superb purity and length. It should drink well for 15-20 years. Owners Larry and Mary Ann Tsai are long-time veterans of the Napa Valley wine scene and produce a bevy of noteworthy wines from vineyards as far-flung as the Sonoma Coast site of Charles Heintz to Cabernet Sauvignons from Howell Mountain, Oakville, Coombsville, and even Pritchard Hill.
