2012 Antinori Guado al Tasso

96 POINTS: Deep ruby in colour with crushed sour cherry, rosemary and cinnamon. A hint of minerality. Full body, high tannins, high acidity. Consistency wins over anything else; there is Tuscany in the dried herbs, there is Bordeaux in the concentration on the palate, there is 2012 in the dilution of the fruit in the mouth. But in the end this wine, with its constant impetuosity, is first of all Guado al Tasso. 1 year oak ageing, then blended, then 6 more months in oak.
