2010 Fontanafredda Barolo Riserva

Some 6,000 bottles were put aside for a late release of one of the best vintages in recent memory. The 2010 Barolo Riserva is a savory and sophisticated expression with dried cherry, smoke, tar and crushed granite that lift gently from the bouquet. The wine reveals itself with slow but mounting intensity as it takes on more air in the glass. It has been aged in large oak casks for 48 months and has emerged intense, balanced and expressive as a result. Anise seed and licorice appear on the close.
