Few names in the wine world carry the gravitas — or the excitement — of Louis Jadot. The House of Jadot has become synonymous with exceptional Burgundy since its founding, in 1859, by Henry Denis Jadot. Today, it is not just a grower and producer, but also a negociant, with an empire as vast as it is decorated, numbering 140 acres across 24 different vineyard sites. As Wine Anorak has written, "Among the leading negociant firms in Burgundy, Jadot currently occupies pole position."

We are privileged to have cultivated a strong relationship with Jadot over the years, and are so proud to be able to bring you this curated selection of their stunning 2020 portfolio — eight Premier Crus and the Chablis Grand Cru Blanchot, all culled from Jadot's vast array of holdings.

From Domaine des Héritiers, we have secured: the 95-point ‘Clos des Ursules’ Premier Cru Monopole; from Domaine Gagey: the 93-point Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru ‘Les Boudots’ and the 94-point Savigny-Lès-Beaune Blanc Premier Cru ‘Clos des Guettes’; from Duc de Magenta, the 95-point Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru ‘Clos de la Garenne’ and the 93-point Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Morgeot ‘Clos de la Chapelle’; and from Domaine Louis Jadot: the 95-point Meursault Premier Cru ‘Les Perrières’, the 94-point Savigny-Lès-Beaune Premier Cru ‘La Dominode’, the 93-point Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru ‘Estournelles-Saint-Jacques’, and the Chablis Grand Cru Blanchot.

As many of you know, 2020 was a banner year for Burgundy. Decanter declared it an "exceptional" vintage, writing that "the best producers made delicious wines that will last for decades."

And Jadot has accounted for a fair bit of that deliciousness.

It's little wonder that, for nearly half a century — dating, not coincidentally, to the arrival of Jacques Lardière, Jadot's legendary winemaker — collectors have scoured the secondary market for Jadot with an ardor bordering on lust. At the same time these wines speak to the highest ideals of Burgundy, they also manage to reach so many of us on a deeper, more primal level. Today the winemaking is directed by Lardière's protege, Frédéric Barnier, but little has changed. These remain, as Robert Parker wrote, "rich, well-delineated, structured wines that stand the test of time."

One of the hallmarks of Jadot over the years is the beguiling push-pull you encounter in the glass, and the wines of 2020 are even more dazzling in their duality — exciting but elegant; complex but charming; soulfully deep and, even, at times, intense, but with a delicacy that adds to their mystery and keeps you coming back for another sip, another bottle, another vintage.

These are certain to go faster than fast, so act now to fill your library with some of the best, most rewarding wines you're going to find on the market!
