CHÂTEAU LATOUR

BORDEAUX, FRANCE 2009

BIG news, folks.

Today’s the release day for the 2009 vintage of Château Latour, and we can tell you right off: it's drinking well already. Wonderfully well.

And bear in mind: these bottles have been cellared in the legendary vaults of Latour for 15 years.

Until the date of release, the wines are kept in pristine condition in those cellars, and are proof-tagged for authentication.

The Wine Advocate, in its 100-point rave of the 2009 vintage one of two it received called it “concentrated and powerful,” with a “rock-solid frame” of “grainy tannins” and fantastic freshness,” and a “very long” finish.  You're going to fall hard for this one, trust us.

We're thrilled to be able to bring it to you, along with:

     * the 100-point 2010 vintage, a wine upon which 4 different critics hung the medal of perfection: a liquid skyscraper in the mouth,” The Wine Advocate anointed it, “building layers upon layers of extravagant, if not over-the-top richness … A mind-boggling, prodigious achievement”

     * the 100-point 2005 vintage, which garnered 3 such perfect scores; Vinous, in 2021, declared it “mind-blowingly profound,” a “deep and sensual” wine of “texture and resonance” that is, simply, “life-affirming”

     * 3 vintages of Les Forts, Latour’s superlative "second wine": including 2015 and 2016, two of the all-time great Bordeaux vintages

Do NOT sleep on this offer, folks.

Latour has long been a revered property, of course, but, since 2012, it has also distinguished itself as something of a maverick in the high-stakes world of French wine. That was the year the estate announced that it would be breaking with Bordeaux's en primeur system, whereby collectors and retailers purchase Bordeaux Futures. Instead, the château would release the wines on its own, and only when its winemaker deemed them ready for consumption.

Many connoisseurs hailed the estate for its brave power move, believing it to be both a demonstration of Latour's unwavering commitment to its wine and a devoted show of commitment to its collectors, who would get to experience those wines as they should be: perfectly cellared with age.

Though we count ourselves fortunate to have acquired allocations of these exceptional releases for our Concierge Family, we do anticipate that the wines will go quickly. So don't delay. And remember: as always, no minimum required!
